The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh Philip underwent heart surgery

The spouse of Elizabeth II underwent surgery due to heart problems.The husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh Philip underwent successful surgery due to a chronic heart problem. In the next few days he will be in hospital, recuperating. This was reported by The Sun on Thursday, March 4.

“The Duke of Edinburgh underwent a successful cardiac procedure for his existing heart condition at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. His Royal Highness will remain in hospital for several more days for treatment, rest and recuperation,” the publication wrote, citing Buckingham Palace’s press office.

Prince Philip was admitted to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London on March 1. The Duke was sent to the medical facility to monitor his existing heart condition, as well as to treat an “infection,” the nature of which is not specified.

Earlier, the 99-year-old duke had been in the King Edward VII hospital in central London for 13 days.

On February 16, the husband of Elizabeth II was hospitalized due to malaise on the advice of his doctor. It was noted that the treatment was not an emergency, the Duke made it to the hospital without assistance.
