According to a new report published by MyDrivers, the upcoming sixth generation iPad mini will receive significant changes in performance and design.
In particular, the novelty will be equipped with 8.4-inch full-screen LCD, two speakers and USB-C. The design will resemble the iPad Pro and iPad Air, and Touch ID will move from the home button to the power button. The dimensions will be 206 mm × 138 mm × 6.1 mm, and five colors will be available: green, blue, gray, silver and rose gold versions.
In addition, the iPad mini 6 will get the Apple A14 processor, like in the iPhone 12, which will retain 5G support. A magnetic mount for the second-generation Apple Pencil will also be available.
A Japanese blogger under the nickname Majin Bu confirmed these specs, and also attached a couple of renderings that he received from the manufacturers of the cases. According to him, they match the final design with 99% probability.
He also claims that the novelty will go on sale in November, and the price will start at $399 – just like the iPad mini 5 (at least in the U.S.). Here’s the expected pricing:
64GB (Wi-Fi) – $399
256GB (Wi-Fi) – $549
64GB (Wi-Fi + 5G) – $529
256GB (Wi-Fi + 5G) – $679
It is worth noting that MyDrivers also writes about the existence of a version with 128 GB of memory, which Majin Bu does not mention.
