Borders between European countries may be closed due to the coronavirus pandemic for another two years. This opinion was expressed by Roman Prymula, Deputy Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, in an interview with Czech Television.
“We have to be prepared for the situation in other European countries not to be favorable. It will last for months, maybe up to two years,” he said.
His point of view was also shared by Adam Vojtěch, Head of the Czech Ministry of Health, who fears a possible second or even third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. “We are talking about the fact that we do not have a second or third wave of the epidemic, so that people from countries such as Italy, France, Spain or Germany would not bring coronavirus,” he said.
Residents of the Czech Republic will have to spend their vacation this year in their country without going abroad, Roman Prymula said.
Since March 1, 1120 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the Czech Republic. On Sunday in Prague in the hospital complex “Na Bulovec” died a patient infected with coronavirus, who was 95 years old, this case was the first fatal outcome in the country.
