The earthquake with magnitude 6.3 has been registered in Papua New Guinea. It was reported by the US Geological Service on October 8.
The epicenter was located in 38 km to the north-east from Kainantu town on New Guinea island. The hearth was located at the depth of 103.5 km. No tsunami threat was announced.

On October 6 seismologists have registered the earthquake with magnitude 6 off the coast of Fiji. The epicenter was located in 232 km to the east from Levuka town, the origin was located at the depth of 628 km.
