The explosion occurred on Monday in the province of Hatay in southeast Turkey while police were chasing terrorists. This was reported by NTV channel on October 26 with reference to the governor of the province Rahmi Dogan.
“As a result of prosecution of one of two terrorists, there was an explosion in Iskenderun. Terrorist was neutralized. There are no dead. The operation is ongoing,” the governor said in a written statement.
It is specified that the explosion thundered on Fener Street. The scene of the incident is cordoned off. Police, firefighters and medical brigades were sent there.

The sentences on the combined charges exceed 1,300 years. The terrorist was found guilty of attempted murder, premeditated murder of 39 people, including a police officer, violation of weapons storage rules.
