The head of the British Ministry of Health Matt Hancock is infected with coronavirus

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that his test for coronavirus infection was positive. The official made such a statement on his Twitter on Friday, 27 March.

According to him, he has a disease with mild symptoms. The minister continues to work from his home, where he has self-isolated.

Earlier Friday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also reported on Twitter about the discovery of coronavirus.

March 23, Johnson announced the introduction of a three-week quarantine in the country due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

The new coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, became known at the end of December last year. The Chinese city of Wuhan has become the focus of the infection. Within a few months, the disease had spread to over 190 countries. On March 11th, the World Health Organization recognized the pandemic infection.

According to Worldometer on March 27, 11,658 people were infected in the UK, 578 died. A total of more than 532 thousand cases were registered in the world, 24 thousand people died, more than 124 thousand patients were cured.
