The purpose of these actions is to destabilize the situation in our country against the background of clearly declining street activity and disruption of plans for aspirations to labor collectives, students to inspire the protest movement,” BelTA quotes him as saying.
According to Tertel, the organizers of the rally intend to blame Belarusian law enforcement agencies for possible consequences of the provocation.
In this regard, the country’s law enforcement agencies are taking measures to verify information, identify those involved and bring them to justice.
“I want to ask our citizens to be vigilant, to take care of their loved ones, to prevent them from being drawn into illegal activities,” Tertel concluded.
On October 13 ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya delivered an ultimatum to the head of state Alexander Lukashenko in which she outlined three demands of opposition: his resignation from the post of head of state, end of violence in the country’s streets and release of all political prisoners.
She allocated 13 days to fulfill the demands. Otherwise, she said, “the whole country will peacefully take to the streets with an ultimatum of people” and on October 26 national strike of enterprises, blocking of all roads and collapse of sales in state stores will begin.
