The largest electric powerplane made its first flight in the U.S.

AeroTEC’s Cessna Grand Caravan 208B (eCaravan), the world’s largest electric commercial aircraft, performed its first successful test flight in the USA. The company announced this on its website on Friday, May 29.

The first flight test of the electric Cessna 208B Grand Caravan was conducted in Moses Lake, Washington. The test, which took place at Grant County Airport, was deemed successful.

It was noted that the aircraft was in the air for about 30 minutes.

“I am proud of the pioneering work of our engineers, technicians and the team that conducted the test flight. There is no roadmap for testing and certifying electric aircraft – this is a new frontier, and AeroTEC is at the forefront of developing processes and best practices that will pave the way for electric aircraft,” says company CEO Lee Human.
