The last state of the United States gave up the Confederate symbol on the flag. The Mississippi authorities have approved the bill. The debate began amidst protests over the death of African-American George Floyd.

The emblem in the form of a cross with stars is considered a symbol of racism, it was used by the slave confederate states of America, which lost in the civil war of 1861-1865.

In the U.S., only the Mississippi flag left the “Confederacy”. The Special Commission will develop a new project and present it to the residents. Voting for or against the proposed version of the flag will be held in November.
