The man who slapped Macron dressed up as a knight

The man who slapped French President Emmanuel Macron during a meeting with the population in the Drôme department was dressed up as a knight and was fond of the Middle Ages. The French newspaper Le Parisien learned about his hobbies.

According to the newspaper, the attacker’s name is Damien T. and he is 28 years old. In one of the pictures on Instagram man poses in a knight’s armor with a sword in his hands. During a search of Damien T.’s apartment, many books on the Middle Ages and role-playing games, a Soviet flag, and a replica weapon were found.

Macron was slapped in the face during a trip to the Drome department on June 8. The French leader approached a crowd of locals behind a low metal fence, took one of the men by the arm and said something to him, and was slapped in the face in response. Two men were detained after the incident.

Later, it became known that the accomplice of the attacker, Arthur S., was searched. They found weapons and a program book of Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf in Arthur’s house.
