The mayor of Copenhagen resigned after allegations of harassment

The mayor of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen, resigns after allegations of sexual assault. The Copenhagen Post reported this on Monday, October 19.

Jensen announced his resignation at a press conference. He also resigned as deputy leader of the Social Democratic Party.

During his speech, he apologized to two women against whom he was accused of harassment in 2011 and 2017.

Jensen had been in office since January 1, 2011. The chairman of the Social Democrat Caucus in the city council, Lars Weiss, will serve as mayor of Copenhagen until the October 29 elections.
