The submarine KRI Nanggala-402 of the Indonesian Navy (Navy), disappeared near Bali, found in the waters of the island. This was reported Saturday, April 24, the agency “Xinhua”, citing the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy.
As noted, Indonesian searchers were able to find the submarine by scanning the bottom of the Bali Sea. It was noticed at a depth of about 850 meters.
Earlier April 24 the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono said that the disappeared submarine ran out of oxygen to support the life of the crew.
The submarine KRI Nanggala-402, with 53 sailors aboard, was conducting torpedo exercises when it stopped communicating. On April 21, traces of an oil spill were found near the island of Bali, where the submarine disappeared. On April 23, an unidentified object with high magnetism was found near the site of the missing submarine.
Russia, the United States, Germany, France, India, Turkey, and Australia offered their assistance in the search for the missing submarine. Singapore and Malaysia have already sent rescue ships to the submarine’s disappearance site.
