Charlotte Johnson Wahl, the mother of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has died at the age of 79, The Telegraph reported on September 13.
According to the newspaper, she died Monday in a London hospital. The exact cause of her death is not disclosed.
It is noted that the woman was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 40.
Charlotte Johnson Wahl was a professional artist until an illness complicated her work. In 2008, she admitted that despite her illness she tried to paint every day.
Johnson himself called his mother “the unquestionable authority” in the family and stressed that she instilled in him the equal value of every human life.
Boris Johnson’s parents divorced in 1979, when he was 15 years old. In addition to him in the family were brought up three younger children.
