The number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the world has exceeded 37 million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University of the USA on Saturday, October 10.
According to the latest data, 1 069 836 patients with COVID-19 have died worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic. Over 25 million people have recovered since then.
The mark of 36 million cases was crossed on Thursday, October 8.
At the end of September, UN Secretary General António Gutteres called the number of victims of the Coronavirus Pandemic staggering, which at that time had already exceeded the mark of 1 million. According to the Secretary General, the shock from the consequences of the pandemic is not seen to end. He urged countries to cooperate in order to overcome difficulties together.
On October 2, scientists from Princeton and California Universities, as well as Johns Hopkins University shared the results of the research according to which children and youth played the greatest role in spreading the coronavirus in the world.
