Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was hospitalized Wednesday morning, July 14, complaining of abdominal pain.
It is specified that the head of state was admitted to the hospital of the Armed Forces of the country, located in the Brazilian capital Brasilia. According to the portal, Bolsonaro felt a sharp pain in his abdomen in the morning.
It is also specified that lately the president has been complaining of hiccups. It is possible that he will need surgery.
Bolsonaro was stabbed during an election rally in the city of Juiz de Foro, Minas Gerais, in the fall of 2018. The wound affected the mesenteric artery, which provides blood to the intestines. Since then, the Brazilian president has had health problems and has undergone several surgeries.
Earlier this month, Brazil’s Supreme Court authorized a criminal investigation of Bolsonaro, who is suspected of committing a malfeasance in procuring the Indian vaccine Covaxin.
The investigation was intended to find out whether the president committed malfeasance in office when he failed to report alleged irregularities in the procurement of 20 million doses of the vaccine to law enforcement authorities.
