The price of November futures on the TTF hub immediately exceeded $1559 per 1 thousand cubic meters, or €130 per MWh. The maximum price on Wednesday reached $1,606 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Earlier, on October 5, it was reported that the finance ministers of France, Spain, Greece, the Czech Republic and Romania issued a joint statement asking the European Union (EU) to develop a toolkit for “immediate response to gas price hikes.”

According to the initiators, the EU should coordinate purchases to “strengthen our negotiating position” and modernize the energy market.
