Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire Amadou Gon Coulibaly died at the age of 62. This was reported by Reuters on Wednesday, July 8, citing a statement by President Alassane Ouattara.
According to the portal “7sur7” with reference to the family of the head of government, on Wednesday, the Prime Minister was ill during a meeting of the Council of Ministers. He was hospitalized at a clinic in Abidjan, where he died.
In March this year, Amadou Gon Coulibaly was appointed as a candidate for the head of state by the ruling party RHDP. Ouattara, who in 2019 announced his reluctance to serve another term, supported the candidacy of Coulibaly.
According to Reuters, the Culibali underwent heart surgery in a clinic in Paris in 2012.
