The Senate acquitted Trump on the first article of the impeachment trial

The U.S. Senate acquitted President Donald Trump on the first charge under the impeachment procedure.

To find the head of state guilty of abuse of power, senators were required to gain at least two-thirds of the votes (67 mandates). However, this did not happen during the voting on the results of the upper house trial. The Senate’s decision was not subject to appeal.
