The U.S. House of Representatives approved the defense budget for 2021

The Lower House of the US Congress approved the military budget for the new fiscal year. The draft specifies the sanctions against “Nord Stream-2” and “Turkish Stream”. According to the document, the existing restrictions will be tightened. The restrictions will affect individuals and companies that promote the sale or rental of pipe-laying ships and those who provide services for the modernization of ships, somehow related to the construction of gas pipelines.

According to the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump will veto the draft budget in its current form. In particular, he does not agree with the renaming of military bases, which are now named after the figures of the Confederation of States of the Slave-owners’ South. In addition, the President is dissatisfied with those provisions in the bill that would limit the President’s control over American troops in Afghanistan, Korea and Africa.
