The U.S. State Department considered Ukraine’s fate its own responsibility

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent said that Ukraine’s future is only in its hands and that it must take responsibility for choosing its own path.

“I think the position of the United States is that it is not up to us to decide the fate of any country, whether it is Ukraine or Belarus or Russia. The future of the country belongs to those who were born in this country, and the fate of Ukraine is Ukraine’s responsibility,” the diplomat said.

On 13 July, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters on the air of the Rossiya 24 channel that he was ready to build friendly relations with Ukraine. According to the Russian leader, Moscow intends to work as a partner with all friends.

The Russian president also pointed out that there are millions of people in Ukraine who want to restore relations with Russia. There are also political forces there that are in favor of this normalization. However, to all appearances, they are not given any chance to implement their political plans, they are simply eliminated from the political scene in an unlawful way, he stressed.
