The United Nations has no information regarding the health status of DPRK President Kim Jong-un. This was stated by UN Secretary-General António Guterres during a press conference on Thursday, 30 April.
“We do not have any information from the DPRK on the state of Kim Jong-un”.
On the eve, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington’s policy toward Pyongyang does not depend on who is in power in the DPRK, and the U.S. will continue to insist on denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.
Kim Jong-un has not appeared in public since April 11 and missed the ceremony to mark the 108th birthday of his grandfather Kim Il-sung for the first time in eight years. CNN later quoted a source in the U.S. administration as saying the North Korean leader had problems after surgery. The Daily NK source said the surgery was performed on April 12 and is related to the cardiovascular system. At the moment, the North Korean leader is allegedly recovering at a cottage near Pyongyang, which is located near the medical center.
The New York Post has even allowed the death of Kim Jong-un. The Japanese media say the DPRK leader is in a vegetative state after heart surgery.
