The United States is preparing for the worst, while Italy is seeing a drop in hospital admissions for the first time.
Coronavirus caused at least 65,272 deaths in the world, according to a report drawn up on Sunday April,5 by Agence France-Presse based on official figures. Nearly three-quarters of the victims are in Europe, but it is now the United States that is becoming the epicenter of the pandemic.
The country has reported at least 8,162 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University count, and 312,245 cases of contamination. The main U.S. outbreak is in New York State, while New York City alone has recorded 1,905 deaths.
