The U.S. Embassy in Moscow will tell the people of Russia about the features of American culture, history and politics. The U.S. State Department intends to allocate up to a total of $350,000 for this initiative.
In particular, it is planned to involve Russian schoolchildren in the study of the history of relations between the countries. In addition, students divided into groups will create educational projects, including websites, applications, AR- or VR-platforms. Subsequently, they can be used to engage a wide audience in the study of the common history of the two countries.
Another area of focus will be to provide technical and logistical support to the American Subject Matter Experts Program, which aims to explain the characteristics of American culture and foreign policy.
“The Grant recipient will be responsible for logistical support to the Embassy, such as visa support for U.S. professionals, payment negotiations, domestic and international transportation, promotion of events, provision of educational, print, media and social networking materials.
The tasks of the candidate for the grant will also be to select specialists from the U.S., who will conduct lectures, seminars and consultations for the Russian audience. Their agenda will be determined by the American Embassy and partner organizations.
Public and private NGOs established in the USA can participate in the grants.
On July 2, it was reported that the U.S. Department of State intends to finance initiatives to spread “American values” in Slovenia.
The State Department plans to spend a total of up to $100,000 on the implementation of these tasks. Projects of applicants for funding should be aimed at promoting culture, history and American values.
