NATO helicopter crashed near the Greek island of Kefalonia. There were six men on board. The wreckage was found in the sea about 85 km from Kefalonia.
An Italian frigate, a Turkish ship, was sent to the disaster area, for which the Italian side is responsible, to conduct a search and rescue operation. Initially, the helicopter began its flight with the frigate of Canada, which participated in the permanent NATO group SNMG2, said the state TV channel ERT.
As previously reported, the NATO helicopter disappeared from radar screens. When the dispatchers “lost” the aircraft, it flew near the Greek island of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea.
