There is an interesting new project on Kickstarter – HaloCase for iPad, which not only protects the device in case of fall, but also allows you to attach it to almost any flat surface. It will be handy for home workouts and cooking recipes.
The device consists of two parts: a metal HaloCase frame made of aircraft-grade aluminum and a HaloMount ring that attaches to a wall or other surface with a strong adhesive sticker. The HaloMount ring attaches the case to the wall or other surface with a sticky adhesive sticker. The base of the case also attaches magnetically to the tablet itself. The inside of the case is made of soft silicone not to scratch the iPad.
Despite the unusual shape, the HaloCase can save the corners of the device in a fall as well as the usual solid case due to the plastic inserts, and the protruding strips of metal on the back can protect the back panel and camera.
The HaloCase case and stand ring set is priced at $50 for the 11-inch iPad and $60 for the 12.9-inch iPad. As part of the crowdfunding effort, the 11-inch version can be ordered on Kickstarter for just $29, while the 12.9-inch is pre-ordered for $44.
Additional accessories are also available: the Smartfolio case (Apple’s Smart Folio counterpart, adapted for use with the HaloCase) and the HaloStand stand. If purchased with the HaloCase, the case will cost $9 and the stand will cost $19.
