The victims of the shooting in the U.S. city of Norfolk, Virginia, were three women, two more were wounded and are in the hospital. Local police reported about it on Wednesday, November 3, in its Twitter.
According to preliminary information, the conflict occurred on domestic grounds. The suspect first shot one woman and then those who were trying to help her.
The man who fired the shots is wanted.
Earlier, at least six people were killed and 29 injured in a shooting that occurred at Halloween parties in the United States from Friday evening, October 29, through Sunday morning, October 31. Two of the shootings occurred in Texas, two in California, and one in Illinois.
Experts say the U.S. is currently experiencing an “unprecedented” spike in homicides. According to the FBI, the violent crime category rose 30 percent in 2020, with more than 21,500 homicides reported. According to the bureau of investigation, the total increased from 16,669 in 2019, one of the steepest increases in homicides in several years.
