Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) will not work during Thursday, October 1, due to technical failure. The corresponding statement is published on the exchange’s website.
“Since a failure occurred in the system responsible for dissemination of market information, the Stock Exchange suspends trading in all shares. The terms of restoration of the system are not defined yet,” the text says.
According to AFP, trading was stopped at 08:35 local time. The exchange management has apologized to investors and market participants for the malfunction.
As a result of problems at the Stock Exchange, other Japanese exchanges in Sapporo and Nagoya also suspended their work. Currently, only the Osaka Stock Exchange and the Tokyo Mercantile Exchange are operating in the country.
The last major failure at the Tokyo Stock Exchange occurred in 2018.
