Donald Trump said he considers Russian President Vladimir Putin a “world-class chess player”.
Trump gave a similar description to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un.
Speaking to his supporters in the state of Wisconsin, Trump said that his rival in the presidential election, Joe Biden, would not be able to remain on equal footing with any of the listed presidents if he won.
“Putin, Chinese President Xi [Jinping], [North Korean leader] Kim Jong-un and Turkish President Erdogan are all world-class chess players. And his [Biden’s] best years in politics were not so great,” Trump said, his speech was broadcast by CNN on August 17.
On July 23, Trump called Vladimir Putin and Erdogan smart people with sharp minds. At the same time, he expressed doubts about Biden’s ability to become a good president and advised him to take an intellectual aptitude test.
The US presidential election will take place on November 3. According to the latest polls, over 50% of respondents said they would support Biden.
