President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to fully withdraw from Afghanistan, adding that he had not set a specific timeline.
His announcement came against the backdrop of speculation that he could make ending America’s longest war a part of his campaign.
“We’ve been there 19 years, and I think that’s enough… We can always come back if we want to,” Trump said at a White House press conference.
When asked if the target date for this year’s November 26 Thanksgiving is a Thanksgiving, Trump said, “No. I don’t have a target date. But in the near and reasonable time. For some time, but in the nearest and reasonable time.”
