Trump pardons Manafort

Trump pardoned his former campaign manager. Paul Manafort spent almost two years in prison. In 2019, the official was sentenced to four years in prison. He was convicted of tax evasion and fraud. The official concealed from the authorities several of his accounts in foreign banks, as well as the funds he earned as a consultant to Viktor Yanukovych from 2004 to 2010.

A former Trump adviser also received a pardon. Stone was convicted of perjury. The official was arrested as part of the Mueller investigation. Three other individuals had their sentences commuted by the U.S. president.
