Trump refused to “waste time” on a virtual debate with Biden

U.S. President Donald Trump refused to participate in a virtual debate with Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden. He said this on Thursday in an interview with Fox Business TV channel.

“I won’t waste my time on a virtual debate,” Trump said in his first interview after a positive coronavirus test.

The president called such debates “ridiculous” and said he was not going to “sit at the computer. Trump added that, in his opinion, he defeated Biden in the first debate and hoped to win the second.

The US leader also noted that he felt great. “I want to hold pre-election rallies,” he said.

A few minutes before Trump’s interview, the organizing committee of the debates said that their next round would be held on October 15 in a virtual format: the audience and moderator would be in Miami, and both candidates would communicate virtually.
