Information that U.S. Vice President Mike Pence told the current head of state Donald Trump about the impossibility of changing the outcome of the presidential election is a fake. This is stated in a statement issued by Trump’s campaign headquarters.
“The report by The New York Times regarding the vice president’s comments he allegedly made in a conversation with me today is fake news. He never said any such thing. The vice president and I fully agree that the vice president has the authority to act,” President Trump said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Pence allegedly told Trump that he did not have the authority to review the outcome of the presidential election. Before that, Trump wrote on his Twitter that Pence had the authority to invalidate electoral votes “that were fraudulently elected.”
