Donald Trump believes that the wall on the border with Mexico helps prevent new cases of coronavirus infection in the United States. He said this on August 4 on Fox Business.
Trump said the barrier helps reduce the number of illegals entering the U.S., including those infected with coronavirus.
“As you know, Mexico has a very serious infection. “We’re not being severely affected by Mexico because of the wall. That’s great,” said the American leader.
The head of state specified that the total length of the wall currently reaches 275 miles and may become twice as long in the coming months.
July 31, the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit filed by two non-governmental organizations that tried to prevent the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico.
The construction of the wall on the border with Mexico to prevent illegal immigration was one of Trump’s key campaign promises.
In mid-February 2019, the head of the White House imposed a regime of emergency to receive about $6.4 billion to implement the plan. Meanwhile, the President’s opponents agreed to allocate only $1.4 billion for the wall.
