Earlier, on December 16, the leader of the Republican Party in the U.S. Senate, Mitch McConnell, acknowledged his electoral victory during a conversation with Joe Biden. Kamala Harris endorsed the conversation and called on U.S. politicians to express their willingness to “peacefully transfer power, to comply with and respect the norms of the country’s Constitution, as well as the electoral system” of the United States.
