Waves of tsunami after the earthquake have been registered in four regions of Alaska.
The earthquake with a magnitude of 8.2 occurred southeast of the settlement of Chingik in the U.S. state of Alaska. The origin was at a depth of more than 17 km and was located almost 97 km from the settlement.
US Geological Service reported that tsunami threat in the Pacific Ocean after the earthquake has been removed for a number of areas. At the same time it was noted that there was a danger for Alaska and the Aleutian Islands.
