Two deer are quietly walking in a deserted street near Paris

Unusual scene: two fallow deer wandering in a deserted street in Boissy-Saint-Léger, a Parisian suburb, were immortalized in a video broadcast on social networks on Sunday, illustrating the confinement of the inhabitants.

“These two deer belong to the domain of the Château du Piple, which has about a hundred of them,” the mayor of the commune, Régis Charbonnier, told AFP.

According to the edile, it is “not uncommon to see them crossing the county at night but never in the middle of the day and in the center of the town. It’s quite exceptional”.

Filmed on Sunday morning by an inhabitant of the city, the video, broadcast on the social network Twitter, counted, at the end of the day, nearly half a million views. It was also shared several thousand times.

The two deer returned to the domain at the end of the day without causing any trouble, according to Charbonnier.
With the containment measures related to the COVID-19 outbreak, the human presence on the streets dropped dramatically, allowing wildlife to return to these urban areas.

Also in the Val-de-Marne, videos broadcast Friday evening showed the presence of a zebra and ponies in the communes of Champigny and Chennevières.
