Two people were killed in a crash of a Tesla self-driving electric car in Texas

Two people were killed after a Tesla vehicle crashed into a tree. Police believe there was no driver behind the wheel. Media report that one fatality was sitting in the front passenger seat, the other in the back. It took about four hours to put out the fire.

Batteries in Tesla can reignite flames even after the fire is eliminated. The manufacturer notes that autopilot mode is not a substitute for the driver. Accidents involving the electric car have become more frequent. Now law enforcement officers are investigating 20 such episodes.
