Former Buffalo Hockey forward Fred Stanfield died Sept. 13 at 78.
The NHL Alumni Association is deeply saddened to learn that Fred Stanfield has passed away at the age of 77.
Fred was a 2x Stanley Cup Champion that made every team he played for better.

Stanfield scored 616 (211 + 405) points in 914 games in 14 seasons in the NHL from 1964 to 1978. He played for Chicago, Boston, Minnesota and Buffalo.
While with Boston, he won the Stanley Cup twice, in 1970 and 1972.
Two Stanfield brothers, Jim Stanfield and Jack Stanfield, also played in the NHL.
He was an active member of the Buffalo Sabers Alumni Association and organized several tournaments for its members.
