U.S. detains rioter who threw his legs on Pelosi’s desk

A man who threw his legs up on the desk of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the storming of the Capitol building in Washington, has been detained in the United States. It was reported on Friday, January 8, channel CBS News.

The rioter said he took an envelope from the table and “left a quarter” because he is not a thief to take an item for nothing. He also left a “nasty note” for Pelosi.

A photo of the man with his legs draped over Pelosi’s desk was published by many of the world’s media outlets.

According to NBC News, the detainee turned out to be 60-year-old Richard Barnett from Arkansas. He has already been charged with a number of offenses, including intentional trespassing, trespassing with violence and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds, as well as theft of government property.
