U.S. may issue a warrant for the global arrest of Ukrainian oligarch Kolomoisky

The United States may issue a world arrest warrant against Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoysky in the near future.

According to Bloomberg and BuzzFeed, the FBI is investigating in Cleveland, Ohio, against the oligarch and former owner of Privatbank, Igor Kolomoysky, for money laundering in Ukraine and the acquisition of assets in the United States.

According to the media, in addition to the ongoing investigation, the case of the Ukrainian billionaire may currently be studied by the “Grand Jury” in the city of the same name, which is authorized to bring charges at its secret session on the basis of evidence submitted to the FBI, after which a warrant for the arrest of the accused is issued around the world.

It is not known at what stage the Kolomoysky case is currently under consideration. It is most likely that Igor Valeryevich will be charged at the time of his arrest or at the time of his extradition request. This is how Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash and his associates were detained in Vienna.

Earlier it was reported that the International Monetary Fund was dissatisfied with the activity of oligarch Igor Kolomoysky and demanded the Ukrainian authorities to make it impossible to return banks to their former owners.
