Ukraine filed a case after the death of a female employee of the U.S. Embassy

Kiev police opened a criminal case under Ukraine’s Criminal Code article “Intentional killing” after a U.S. embassy employee was killed in the city, the head of the Kiev National Police, Andriy Krischenko, said on Wednesday, September 30.

“The case was opened under the article ‘Intentional Murder. Now the police, forensic expert, our forensic laboratory inspect the scene of the incident, examine the body of this woman, things, the first necessary actions are carried out,” he said on the air of Nash TV channel.

The National Guard is in charge of security at the embassy, he said.

Earlier Wednesday, it became known that an employee of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Sanver Nikaelo, died in hospital after suffering a head injury. The woman was found near the railway tracks in Kiev’s Shevchenko district. The police said she could have sustained injuries from beatings.
