A group of armed men attacked a market in south-eastern Burkina Faso on 7 August and killed some 20 people. This was reported by the local Lefaso portal, citing a statement from the authorities.
“At around noon, unidentified men broke into the cattle market in the village of Fada Ngurma and opened fire on the people there. According to preliminary data, two dozen people were killed and a large number of people were injured,” the communiqué said.
However, authorities have not yet identified any suspects in this crime. Currently, the investigation is ongoing.
Last week, six children were killed and four others injured in an explosion in northern Burkina Faso.
In November last year, 37 people were killed and 60 others injured in an attack on a mining convoy in Burkina Faso.
