US residents will be able to get marijuana for being vaccinated against coronavirus

The authorities of the American state of Washington have decided to encourage residents to vaccination against coronavirus infection in an unusual way. Vaccinated citizens will be able to get marijuana, beer, wine, or a cocktail for free. This was reported by The New York Times.

This decision was made by the State Liquor and Cannabis Board as part of a strategy to vaccinate a large number of residents. The promotion will end on July 12. Authorized sellers of marijuana in Washington will be able to give away one free self-smoking drug to people over 21 years old who have received a shot of the vaccine.

The publication’s reporters found that more than 49 percent of the state’s population had been fully vaccinated, and 58 percent had received at least one dose of the drug. The total number of state residents who were vaccinated against the coronavirus is 42%.

It is noteworthy that you can get marijuana for vaccination not only in Washington state but also in Arizona. In addition, activists of the New York Marijuana Justice movement offered vaccinated citizens one free joint each on June 20 in New York City. At that time, people lined up in long lines.
