The U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security blacklisted the 33rd Central Research Testing Institute and 48th Central Research Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The report says that those on the list of research institutes were suspected of working on chemical and biological weapons.
In general, the list included 60 organizations from Russia, China, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Switzerland and UAE.
The Communication Security Center of Canada, the U.S. National Security Agency and the British Cyber Security Center have previously issued statements alleging that Russia hacked into institutions in these countries to obtain data on the development of a vaccine against COVID-19.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia had nothing to do with hacker attacks.
