The results of the test for COVID-19 in King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and his wife Sylvia were positive. This was announced on Tuesday, January 4, on its website by the press service of the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

“The King and Queen have been vaccinated with three doses of the coronavirus vaccine and both have symptoms of the disease. The king and his wife are feeling well. The couple is on self-isolation,” the statement said.

As the press service clarified, the king and queen are carrying the coronavirus in a mild form.

Swedish Princess Victoria and her husband Daniel contracted COVID-19 in March 2021. After the illness, it was noted that no severe effects of the virus were detected in either member of the royal family.
