Venezuelan military shot down a drug trafficking plane with a U.S. flight number

Venezuelan Interior Minister Nestor Reverol said that the Venezuelan armed forces shot down an American plane that was carrying drugs illegally. He wrote about it on September 15 in his Twitter.

“Neutralized was an aircraft carrying drugs with an American registration number that illegally crossed Venezuelan airspace in the state of Sulia,” said the Interior Minister.

In addition, he published a number of photos from the scene of the incident. According to Reverol, the military was guided by the Law on Control of Integrated Airspace Protection.

The Minister stressed that Venezuelan soldiers continue to monitor the airspace to prevent its use for drug trafficking from Colombia.

Since 2013, Venezuela has a law that allows shooting down drug planes of the Mafia.
