Virtual Orthodox temple appeared on the Net

The virtual Orthodox temple has earned on the Net. The VR temple is placed on the portal врпц.рф, which probably stands for “virtual Russian Orthodox Church”.

The creators assure that it meets all the canons and will help replace ordinary churches during the regime of self-isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The virtual church is made as a three-dimensional tour of the richly decorated cathedral, the user can move to several of its points. The background sounds like an Orthodox choir. However, it is not clear how to pray in it or put candles.

The authors of the virtual temple are the production studios Krem and My Duck’s Vision. Previously, they had already executed orders for official structures.

At the end of March, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia urged the believers to give up visiting the temples because of the coronavirus pandemic and to pray at home instead.

“Let us lay on ourselves the feat of not leaving our homes, as Mary Egyptian took the feat of not leaving her desert, but she was also thirsty”.

Russia has also launched a corresponding hashtag – pray at home.
