In one of the craters of the active Stromboli volcano in the morning on Monday, November 16, there was a powerful explosion. This was reported in the Italian newspaper Il Mattino.
The volcano is located on a small island of the same name in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily. According to the newspaper, it threw a column of ash over 100 m high, which was donated on the territory of nearby settlements. According to preliminary information, there were no victims.
Stromboli volcano has three craters. In July 2019, as a result of an eruption of the volcano one man died, three others were slightly injured. The last major activity was recorded in 2009.
