WhatsApp will share user data with Facebook. You can’t refuse to do so

WhatsApp has updated the terms and privacy policy of the service. Now the popular messenger will share user data with Facebook. It is impossible to refuse this – you can either accept the new terms or not use the service.

All changes in the WhatsApp policy are described on the official website. It also says that the information that the service shares with Facebook companies includes account registration data (such as phone number), transaction data, service information, data on interactions with other users and companies, information about the device, IP address and more.

The transfer of user data should improve the delivery of personalized advertising, help make purchases and transactions, and improve the security, safety and integrity of all Facebook products.

The offer to accept the new terms appears automatically in mobile apps at launch. It cannot be rejected. All changes will take effect on February 8.
