Why did Russia put Svetlana Tikhanovskaya on the wanted list

The Russian Interior Ministry denied the information about the initiation of criminal proceedings against former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. As it was stated in the department on October 8, the citizen of the republic got into the list of persons wanted in Russia based on agreements within CIS.

“This bank (wanted persons – Ed.) is formed in accordance with the Regulations of competent bodies for realization of interstate search of persons approved in 2015 by the Decision of the Council of heads of government of CIS”, – underlined the press-service of Russian Interior Ministry on Thursday, October 8.

The ministry informed the day before that Belarusian opposition activist Tikhanovskaya was announced on the interstate wanted list, emphasizing that she was wanted under the Criminal Code article. However, which specific article was not specified.
